When we read the Mexican White Boy in class I noticed from the start that Uno is "the man" of the col-de-sac. I think he always is trying to prove him self. He is the type of guy who has to be the best. Uno feels like he has a rep to keep so when a new kid shows up he has to be better. When Danny showed up he he was trying to keep to him self, but when Uno saw him with his cousin he though that Danny and his cousin were dating so he tried to be better then him. Uno was teasing Danny but when he least expected it Danny hit the ball far two times in a row. So the third pitch Uno tried to peg Danny with the ball, but he missed. The fourth time he though it inside. I think he was trying to scare Danny, but when Danny tried to swing the bat slipped and hit Manuel. This was the perfect thing Uno can use to take out his anger on Danny. So I think that the bat hitting Manuel wasn't the main cause of Uno hitting Danny but only a part. The way i think Uno was thinking was that I own this block, ain't no new kid gonna mess that up. So when the bat hit Manuel it set him off. Another think I think is that Uno inside is soft but he acts hard he tries to hide his true feelings and he had a sense of aight you showed me up but when you mess with my family you gonna get it. I know it wasn't Danny's fault but maybe Uno wasn't thinking straight and he probably had some rough times with his family so his in a state of denile.
